Carol Rozek

I am a certified USCCA Firearms Instructor, NRA Instructor and Range Safety Officer, as well as a Well Armed Woman Instructor.

Carol showed an interest in firearms at a young age but it wasn’t until a later age that she pursued a career in firearm education.

Although I didn’t grow up around guns, I remember watching TV westerns with my dad and wearing the whole outfit: cowboy hat, boots, fringe jacket, holster, and revolvers. My dad even made me a wooden rifle that shot thick rubber bands. It wasn’t until I was an adult, however, that I got to handle a real gun: a shotgun for trap shooting. Thus, the seed was planted, but it remained dormant for many years.

Fast forward to 2007, when I left my career as a patent attorney and moved cross country to start my dog training business. After moving to Oregon, I discovered The Baron’s Den, an indoor range in Eugene, and a new door opened for yet another adventure.

I purchased my first gun, a Glock 19, in 2012. What started out as a hobby turned into a passion for the sport.  And as any gun owner knows, once you have one, more will follow! I purchased a Glock 34, among others, which was my favorite for a long time, until I purchased my first 1911 - a Dan Wesson PM9.

I competed in The Baron’s Den league and currently compete in Steel matches and IDPA. I am a certified USCCA Firearms Instructor, NRA Instructor (Basic Pistol, Home Firearm Safety, Refuse To Be A Victim) and Range Safety Officer, a Well Armed Woman Instructor, and a Taser Civilian Trainer. I am also a member of the Izaak Walton Shooting League’s Board of Directors.

I have always had a passion for learning and I continue to increase my knowledge and skill set through constant and consistent training. I graduated Andrew Branca’s Law of Self-Defense Instructor Program, Tom Givens’ 2-day Combative Pistol class, Mike Seeklander’s 2-day Competitive Handgun Level 1 class, and his Defensive Handgun Level 1 class. Most recently, I completed Tim Larkin’s Human Weapon’s Project (Part 1) at Target Focus Training. While my main proficiency is with handguns, I have added a few rifles and shotguns to my collection and am becoming proficient with them as well.

When I’m not shooting, you can find me at the gym with my personal trainer or engaging in fun activities with my dog.
